SEEKING TO UNDERSTAND POLICE LEAVERS EMPLOYMENT CHOICES
Why conduct the survey?
The National Police Leavers Survey is the first survey of its kind seeking to understand what employment police officers and staff make once they leave the police service, what roles and industries they move into and what support they may need making the transition.
Wellworks an independent Occupational Psychology Consultancy Practice has been commissioned to design, administer and analyse the survey by the National Police Well-being Service (NPWS). Wellworks has worked with the Police and the NPWS for a number of years, delivering retirement and resettlement programmes, most recently creating the Police Leavers Toolkit to support all ranks of officers and staff leaving policing across the UK.
All survey responses are anonymous and will inform the development of future police resettlement programmes to ensure those leaving the police are prepared for future opportunities both mentally and practically. The survey is part of a wider police leavers programme being led by the NPWS to support the Police Covenant. The Police Covenant, supported by the Home Office is intended to ensure that officers, staff, volunteers and their families are not disadvantaged as a result of their service.
Survey Details
Are you a former police officer or police staff member? Have you retired or left in the last few years? We want to know what you are doing now. Are you currently employed, volunteering or spending time caring for family? Have you returned to policing or are you working in a completely different industry? We want to hear from you! All responses are anonymous. The short survey takes 10 - 15 minutes to complete. The survey and more information can be found here.
All data collected will be stored and processed securely in line with General Data Protection Regulations.
